Custom wedding invitations

Finally completed the custom hand drawn couple wedding invites! I had a lot of fun with this order. A little about the process: Sora had sent me a photo of her and her lovely fiance' and wanted an illustration done which ultimately would be used for their wedding invitations.
Cream luxe matte paper was used for the invites, RSVP cards and both envelopes. Each envelope was lined with a lovely text weight "paper bag" color. Each envelope lining was hand cut..lots of work but I love the final piece.  Can't wait to working on the next round of invites! If interested in invites request a custom order at the etsy shop here.

Custom illustration portraits

I've been asked by Mercy for Animals to donate some artwork for their event Justice For All in L.A. next month. Mercy for Animals is a group I've worked with a lot in the past, tabling, leafleting, design work, etc.. They are an AMAZING organization that I'm so happy to support. They work tirelessly defending the rights of all animals. You can read more about them here.

I'm honored they asked me to donate work. I've been working on custom portraits that I've been selling at my shop. The link for the actual portraits is here.

The portrait above is part of a custom wedding invitation I've been commissioned to do. I'm so excited the couple wanted to include their adorable cats!

This illustration above (Andy & Jen) is one I did of my husband and I for our wedding. Ultimately it was used on our save the dates/wedding invitations.

This was a custom illustration that was purchased from a customer via my etsy shop. It was purchased as a gift for a friend and their significant other...how sweet!

Reclaimed wood Art piece

Evanston South store display made with reclaimed materials.

Check out this amazing piece that my awesome husband created! It was made from totally reclaimed materials and scraps.
A little snippet from our store display project...

Materials:
Scrap metals and woods: old hardware, table legs, fence slats, tool and furniture parts
Wooden frame: recovered from an alley three blocks from the store
Letters: cut from old store shelving
Paint: leftover from another store project

Each scrap of metal, wood and fencing that shapes our Earth Day store emblem sign was recovered during several weeks of local scavenging. Green Mission Rep Andy used many of his 15-minute breaks to gather scrap treasures from alleys within five miles of our Evanston South store. A small team hand-cut, shaped, designed and painted these recycled pieces of our neighborhood into a handsome, multi-colored and -textured sign.

Rocky & Rilo

My 2 best pals, Rocky & Rilo, our 2 rescued pit bulls.

Hello.

So...
I've finally caved. I've started blogging and I've vowed to myself that I'm going to  keep up with this. I've started so many blogs in the past and they have fallen by the wayside. There are so many things going on in my hectic life as of lately! This seems like the perfect platform to keep those things organized.
Exciting things on the horizon...
In the meantime check out my shop:
