Reclaimed wood projects

Reclaimed wood button display
So, if I haven't said it before I'm saying it now, my husband is the best. Seriously. He just built me a new & improved button stand to take to all of my shows. Not only was this hand crafted in our studio but it was made from all reclaimed wood from Chicago's own Rebuilding Exchange.

He's also hand crafted the shelves for my permanent display at Local Goods Chicago. They were crafted with reclaimed pallet wood.

Wall shelves crafted with reclaimed pallet wood.

And last but not least he also made me wall hanging displays for my buttons at Local Goods from the same reclaimed pallet wood.

Button wall displays made from all reclaimed pallet wood.
We have so many reclaimed wood furniture projects in the works and can't wait to make some serious furniture/objects...stay tuned dudes.

Arrested Development

Arrested Development pin series (Top left to right: Buster Bluth, Tobias Funke, Gob Bluth & Lucille Bluth)

Well I've finally gotten around to making pinback buttons! I've had ideas sketched up for at least a year but just got around to actually purchasing a professional button press.

Arrested Development...it's a family favorite of ours, there just isn't anything on television that is written like Arrested D. It's just fantastic. Anyway, I wanted to pay homage to the show so I've begun to make button sets of the characters. I created Buster Bluth first because well, to put it simply, he's my favorite. Tony Hale (the actor that plays Buster) is just hilarious.

All pin sets are available in my Etsy shop. Buster, Tobias, Gob & Gangy.

Tony Hale (actor who plays Buster Bluth) tweet in response to my Buster pins "Nice Work!"
I was quite excited when Tony Hale (the actor who plays Buster Bluth) tweeted in response to my Buster pin set with "Nice work!".

Next up is a deluxe Arrested Development pin set AND magnet set...so stayed tuned!

Wes Anderson...finally

Life Aquatic pinback button set

Apologies for such a HUGE gap between posts. My Etsy shop has been full throttle and then some since around August. That is fantastic news for me, but so many other things are neglected...like my blog/tumblr/twitter, etc..

My husband has been hounding me to make some Life Aquatic products. This is is favorite Wes Anderson movie. Was hoping to complete them before Christmas but was just too swamped. So now they are finally done and up for sale at the shop.

Stay tuned because I have pin sets started for more of Wes Anderson's films.

Also, I had a pretty intense/time consuming request from a client in Canada who wanted a portrait of her brother and his cat amongst his favorite Wes Anderson characters. I said SURE and began work on the project. Then came the holiday madness..! When the dust settled I was able to focus more on the illustration and finally get it done.

Custom Wes Anderson illustration commissioned from a buyer in Canada.

So, I think I'm going to list this on the Etsy shop and have the option for people to add themselves in as well as include more of his characters.

Recently listed a Life Aquatic print in the Etsy shop. More Wes Anderson pinback button sets coming as well as prints!
